I love a great account of what God is doing. Here’s one that encouraged me…be warned, I may get preachy by the end of this post.

It is so encouraging to see what God is doing! We were actually watching Dutch Sheets preach tonight at a conference at Christian International (in Destin Florida…we were at home in Texas. Thankfully, Christian International share their conferences at www.cimn.tv and Dutch Sheets will be teaching/preaching/whatever he does tomorrow April 7th at 9 a.m.) He told Manchester, Kentucky’s story about how a local Baptist pastor (yes, for all you Spirit-filled folks out there…God works through Baptist people too) had a dream and felt God lead him to organize the pastor’s in his city to prayer march and pray for their community. Amazing results…even the water that had been undrinkable is now the sweetest drinking water (without any treatments being performed) around.
As we heard their story, I turned to my husband and said, “And we (our communities) think that somehow our community is going to change without a true commitment to prayer. Who do we think we are?” Really, how arrogant. We sing, “He is God of this city” but our commitment to prayer and repentance hasn’t changed. Come on people. How badly do you want to see what God can do in your city? What would you do to see it? What would you give up? What would you give? How much is it worth to you? Would you be willing to set aside your personal beliefs to pray with people who don’t pray how you pray? Would you be willing to repent? Would you give your time? Would you fast a meal ever week? What’s it worth to you?
